Plans are screwed

But it was still an enjoyable & well-spent weekend. Sat was all set for Sentosa but the weather wasn't cooperative. My new Old Navy dress for just S$20. So we spent 2hrs at Vivo, unknowingly, just, window-shopping. Yes, nothing caught my eye. Which is a good thing I guess. And then there was the impromptu dinner. Actually it 'impromptu' only because it was a forgotten one. But it was good. The Whole Earth at Geylang Lor 31. Vegeterian btw. Not very full initially but couldn't say the same after the durians at Chinatown. Wanted to set it as the next date with the girlies (esp. HS) but remembered she has just gotten the 'metals' fixed. Let me know when you are ready. Sunday was the 'meet the parents' session followed by the 'meet the Chins'. 2hrs here and there respectively and the entire Sunday was almost gone. So there, that's my weekend. How's yours?

What's in a name?

My new company is preparing my namecards and asked for my Chinese name yesterday. The Chinese characters are quite simple but alas, this morning, they asked for them in traditional chinese. I don't even know there's one for 'Li'. And damn, it was a tough one. I had to call my aunt for help and figured out something while she described the strokes. Eventually, I got my colleague (a designer) to help me with typing the words. Interesting.

Mee Siam

I had a $3 plate of barely-enough-to-satisfy-my-hunger plate of mee siam. Pardon my ignorance but since when has mee siam shot up to $3? My last was the most $2.50 although I can't remember when. Me(e) really will siam (avoid in hokkien) from now on.

Money=Happiness?

Just checked Sentosa website and except for the beach, most attractions require you to pay a mean sum of admission fee. Mean sum because to me, it's totally not worth it. Everything is about money. And the saying "money can't buy happiness" doesn't seem to gel with the increasing inflation rate. It's a saying meant for the rich I think. Because with money, what's another BMW, LV or Cartier? You name it, they probably have it. Where's the excitement & happiness when they don't even have to bat an eyelid as the sales assistant swipe their credit cards? To them, luxury goods (to us) are just necessities to them. I remember when I bought my Miu Miu, I was happy for weeks. See, money can buy happiness. For the non richie-rich that is. I'm sure if I'm rich, it will just be another bag sitting with the rest of my collection in that carpeted bag corner in my bigger-than-your-living-room bedroom. I'm sure if I'm rich, each day I will hav...

What's New?

Sick again... :( R8 again. My lousy phone did no justice to my new yellow top & tanline. 'Clever' me left my make-up pouch at home. Lukily I had this new dress to match the specs and bare face. Now, can you see that tanline? Unintentional couple wear.
Tao Li. No, it's Li Tao. No, Tao Li. Li Tao la! Stupid bf was arguing with his mum over the name. He was wrong. It doesn't matter who came first. What matters is who's there at last.

Hop Hop

20 months and I hopped to the next. Now, 10 months later, I'm off to another. I choose to believe there's no number pattern here. Marketing? Check. Media? Check. Town area? Check. Higher pay? Check. More benefits? Check. I also choose to believe that for now, I've found what I've always wanted to do.
