24 - 27 February 2011.
The Yaps + The Yeos visited The Ching.
640am Jetstar flight that departed on time had us reached HK at 10ish.
Took a while for our respective yellow & grey bag to be out on the belt and by the time we checked in, we were famished.
Settled our first meal in HK at a typical cafe.

OMG!!! I would have stopped breathing if it came alive...

Once upon a time...

Kinda once upon a time too....

This was particularly memorable because I had a 8R shot of this taken more than 10 years ago when SX and I went to the museum in Singapore.

After the tour, on our way up to the Sky Terrace.

Up again after 20 years...

Rich people

And this is why HK is beautiful and captivating...
Wrapped up the day with dinner at the famous restaurant - Yung Kee.

Day 2 was solely on our own as the Yaps went over to Macau.

And challenged ourselves with a ride in the crystal cabin.

Wishing tree.

At Citygate Outlet to watch I Love Hong Kong.
Entire theater with only 5 patrons! Me like :)
Citygate is disappointing...
Love that the vegetables are so green and fresh.
That's not all for 3 of us.
Surprised her with 2 mini delicious cakes.
5 peeps in a tiny room is quite a challenge and with a long day ahead, celebration was over in less than an hour.

Third stop, H&M.

Fifth stop, the cafe full of character.

Last but not least, desserts and oranges at HS' apartment.
Hope you had a memorable birthday celebration :)

It was packed with lots of inconsiderate tourists/foreigners - people who walked over the hand prints when you were trying to take a picture, people who hogged the statues to have their photos taken like 101 times! Very frustrating and hence I didn't quite appreciate the place. Anyway it's more of a been there done that experience.
Then, like all other trips, there's always a time to say goodbye.

Parted our ways after lunch and first stop for us was toy shop at Wan Chai.
I pictured it as a big factory outlet. It's just a shop in a mall and the toy cars weren't very cheap.
Left the place empty-handed and with too much time on hand, we went Tsiu Wah at Central for my favourite bun.
And left at 3ish for The Peak.
And left at 3ish for The Peak.
It went a little crazy when we were told to move up and perceived as cutting queue.
Two HKgers had a little arguement but everything was fine eventually when one party apologised.
We decided to go the touristy way and visited Madame Tussaud's.

Day 2 was solely on our own as the Yaps went over to Macau.
We started our day with breakfast at the traditional cafe beside the hotel and it was good!
After breakfast was almost an hour train ride to Tung Chung (near Disneyland) for Lantau Island.
Cable car ride would be faster to reach the top but guess what?
We spent an hour queuing....
And challenged ourselves with a ride in the crystal cabin.

It was lunch time when we reached and we decided to snack on desserts instead.
We were so in love with the durian pancake. Only to realise from HS we have this dessert shop at Vivo.
Wishing tree.
It was freaking warm!
Stayed for a while at the top because we had a movie to catch.
Managed to try the local snacks before we left.

Only purchase that cheered me up.
Got lost at Harbour City, ha and settled for dinner pretty late.
Love that the vegetables are so green and fresh.
Very fattening though.
That's not all for 3 of us.
Mr. Grumpy ordered a curry rice and HS and I shared a huge plate of noodles.
When will we learn not to over order?
We were so full that we had to forgo drinks or desserts.

And the night decided to get chilly when I had left the jacket in the room...
Nice.

Sixth stop, back to hotel to dump our loot.
Our first mini bus experience.
Last but not least, desserts and oranges at HS' apartment.

On our last day, we headed to Avenue of Stars in the morning.

And I will return.
Not in 20 years time for sure :)
