It's Christmas' Eve and I've decided to be a little more diligent to pen down the other part of the trip that happened more than six months ago...
I've said Madrid was not worth a second visit (in my opinion) but am glad Barcelona didn't leave such an impression. It's definitely more vibrant and the weather's much better.
This is our first hotel.
First day back at Barcelona was a Sunday and all shopping outlets were closed. We could only settle for window shopping and I certainly didn't expect myself ending up at Miu Miu days later to get a bag I saw on display.
We also went for our first tapas at Tapa Tapa and fell in love with it immediately! Sangria got us happy too although I'm still not good with alcohol.
Day two was city tour and some shopping :)
I used to think such tour is a waste of money but it covers a lot of places, at least the tourist ones so if you do not have much time (but need to put aside two full days if you want to maximise the tour) and are on a budget, I would say go for it. You choose to get off and on as and when you want although it gets full easily at the famous tourist spots.
It's his second trip and the majestic building is still under construction. I think it's a gimmick to get tourists to keep coming back.
City tour arranged by the company. Followed by dinner at the museum.
On the second last day, we went to Sagrada Familia. Amazing history, architecture and concept. Not to mention the determination, time, blood and sweat behind these.
Dinner was a restaurant tucked in small town of sort outside the city.
Completed with Spanish dance.
Day five - conference officially over! It was an eye-opener and I'm more proud than ever to be part of the big family.
And then we checked in to a crappy hotel...
More shopping to compensate that but unfortunately, Madrid's Lefties was much bigger and better.
Next morning started with love at an exquisite cafe beside the hotel. We loved it so much we went back thrice!
Didn't get to go into the market - first time didn't have enough time and the weather was over bearing, second time it was closed. Bummer.
Can't remember which day we had this for lunch but it was the best paella we had!
We went to the famous Barcelona stadium.
Had the best pizza at our favourite 'Love' cafe.
Went on top of Barcelona (sort of) and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
Had Chinese food on one of the evenings. This was much better than Madrid's.
Did some last minute photo taking on the last day.
And this is our Barcelona trip.
Two more places in Europe checked.
Two new bags.
One (and perhaps only) conference attended.
June was great. And definitely so to celebrate the last of my twenties.
Till the next.

Day three in Barcelona was time to move to the five star Pullman hotel that company arranged for us. It benefited the boys as poor us barely had time to enjoy the room. It was out in the early morning for conference and back late at night dead tired and off to bed. The cycle repeated for the next few days.
