Counting down

Woo hoo! Next month this time, we are in Rome! I've heard people telling me that's their favourite European city and I shall see for myself. Everything's booked except the hotel and Moulin Rouge in Paris. Waiting for Uncle Bruce to be back in London to help us with that. I'm not good at expressing excitement with words but I am very excited already :)

F1 weekend

Means Mr. Grumpy has very little time for me. So it was a date with bro yesterday. We stuffed ourselves silly (he, more so) at Zhou's Kitchen and went Orchard for shopping. I spent close to $200. All for the trip (again). Just did a quick check and the weather can be quite different in the various countries. Makes wardrobe planning tougher... Mr. Grumpy has passes again but being a F1 fan not and I've experienced it last year, we gave them to Uncle Vic. The last I heard, they are enjoying themselves and it's rewarding to learn that the passes are greatly appreciated. Let's see who will conquer the Singapore track tonight. Time to head over to buy dinner, shampoo and my favourite - tidbits! Hope your weekend was a good one. Last week of Sep and I can't wait to embrace Oct!

Fat me up weekend

On Saturday... I started easy with the usual - 1 curry puff, 1 sardine puff and fruits. Didn't feel hungry after so I had bread for lunch. By dinner, I polished a bowl of rice, lots of vegetables (more than my usual 1 week's consumption - not by choice mind you), sotong balls, prawns, sardine, cod fish, omelette - basically we were like 3 little pigs being fed! It was another fun and well-spent evening with the kids :) Thank YOU! On Sunday... I had my usual - peanut pancake bought by fil. Lunch was nasi lemak cooked by mil. So we decided to go to Hatched for dinner instead. After finishing the disappointing small portion, we were not full at all. And off we went to Dempsey's Ben & Jerry's where we had a huge sandwich each. Why not ice-cream you wonder. It could have been but 2 meals within an hour or so, it's really amazing we could take in oxygen let alone food. Yup, on our way to being fatty bom-bom!

Love Cuts

I'm a huge Zoe Tay fan. And I'm never ashamed to admit that. A lot of people around me have seen her in person but not me :( One day I will. I think. Anyway as a fan, I would not allow myself to miss her movie. Even though I read some bad reviews. I went into the pretty empty theater and came out with swollen eyes. Yes, I cried hard. And I wasn't alone. Zoe didn't disappoint as usual. I'm not being biased here (maybe a little) but no one (definitely not the I'm-so-cute F**n W**g) can replace her! Of course, a movie that made you cry so hard also made you think... My brother thought the scene of her on-screen son browsing magazines with sexy ladies showing cleavages, was too random. I told him that scene is to show that most men, young or old care about sizes. Of boobs that is. Just like how men are particular about the sizes of their ahem manhood. And when women are hit with breast cancer and need to remove it or them, they would feel like it's the end of th...

September long weekend

Friday: Spent a good whole afternoon with the kids looking at them quarrel reminds me of my bro and myself when we were young. Except that roles are kinda switched here. The younger one who happens to be a girl, is much fiercer! haha.. Mann, I remember how we fought non-stop! But we have a patient granny who just had to threaten us with a cane and had us shut up almost immediately. And which siblings don't fight? After all, we are and were just kids. By the way, lunch was good! I was joking that the amount of vegetables was more than what I consumed in a week, ha. Not that I don't like to eat but it's a different story 'here'. Evening was Fried Rice Paradise and although we paid for good seats, it was actually not necessary. Simply because it wasn't that fantastic, funny and memorable. We didn't think Taufik sing that well but we ain't Singapore Idol judges so who cares right. Ultimately, I guess it's pretty much an ad-sales oriented production so th...

Lie to me pls

Some people simply cannot handle the truth. Not even those whom you're close to. It's so tough. You tell a kid not to lie but you know that when he grows up, he needs to learn how to lie and that he will be a liar at times. How do you teach a kid when to lie and how to lie? Do we all grow up learning it our way? What's wrong with me not being patronising? What's wrong with sticking to my principles just for this matter? What's wrong with me being selfish just this time? You don't understand but it doesn't matter. Because for once, I want it to be just about me. Too bad.

Ho Chi Minh in 4 days

Well, it came as a surprise to some that I'm going to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. The truth is, I've been wanting to visit seeing that my uncle & aunt are there every year and hearing that it's better than Bangkok - my favourite city! I also want to visit India one day but I guess after HCM, I'm not quite prepared. Anyway, the opportunity (of visiting) came when I learnt that my dear Poly buddy is working there. After conversing with her via MSN and thinking of who to be my travelling partner, I booked Mr. Grumpy and myself tickets a few days later. That was in June and the trip would happen 2 weeks after Bangkok. How nice right? To travel twice in the same month! On 26 August, we departed at 110pm. Only after a sucky lunch at Terminal's 1 toast box. The mee siam was damn oily but I finished half of it still. I couldn't decide if I was hungry, greedy or both. Taken for my brother since he wasn't given the window seat when we went Bangkok and couldn't snap ...
