Goodbye Mr Lee Kuan Yew

2015, early February. Mr Lee was admitted to Singapore General Hospital and rumors had it that he was on life support. How is he going to make it for Singapore's 50th birthday celebration then many of us wondered. What would NDP be without him? This is after all an iconic year. What would Singapore be without him? He has always been around... 2015, March. His condition worsened. The nation prayed for him, left him well wishes at SGH and were preparing for the worst. Reality started to crept in. Are we going to lose him soon...? 2015, 22 March. We saw a heavy downpour that was much needed. While some of us enjoyed the rain, some of us also thought that was a sign. 2015, 23 March. Beijing, from 2014 to 2015

We have always wanted to spend New Year somewhere and also to celebrate our wedding anniversary but it just didn't materialize. For our 5th year, I kinda insisted on a trip. SQ was having a promotion and it was between Hong Kong and Beijing. We love Hong Kong. But I was thinking there's nothing new to do or see. I don't like China. Period. But I really want to see the Great Wall of China and he's a history buff. So it wasn't that tough a decision. Many people asked why Beijing and I prepared myself for the bad weather, the rowdy people and almost everything bad.  Flight there was quite empty. It was the first time I was on the upper deck but turbulence was quite bad too. Again, I was freaking out cos that's how Air Asia got down - bad weather.
