The last family trip we had was 15 years ago and only to Genting!
Needless to say, this trip made us all excited.
Mum & Dad seldom travel. Almost anywhere is fine.
Bro & I were looking forward to the shopping. Especially since the last trip wasn't erm too good.
BUT, I don't think I'll be doing another family trip soon.
At least not to Bangkok.
There were frustrations from time to time and it didn't quite live up to my expectation.
Oh well, at least we tried.
I wanted to complete this entry with photos but I suddenly feel damn lazy.
Check out the pics on facebook will ya?
Just want to highlight a particular incident.
Be wary of any stranger who approaches you.
I let my guard down when a harmless looking, Cantonese speaking old man approached us to strike a conversation. He had wanted to get S$60 from us to buy train tickets home because he was robbed at Chinatown the night before. He even flashed out his Singapore passport to make his story convincing. Fortunately we didn't buy his story. There may be a slight chance he's not a conman but to think logically, which Singaporean especially at his age, would travel to Bangkok by train? And if he was robbed the night before, why wait till the next morning to ask for help? How would he know there would be fellow Singaporeans to help him?
Did we look stupid or compassionate?
Were we watched or followed before that?
Did we look too Singaporean?
Anyway, I'm glad that no one's hurt or cheated. For all we know, his accomplices were around!
Oh well, just gotta be more alert and less trusty the next time I travel.
Had a well rested weekend and it's another week...
Another week or so will be my second year.
What am I looking forward to?
