Happy 28th to me!

Was a little emo the past few days and didn't think much of my birthday although I kept bugging Mr. Grumpy for a plan. I guess it's work and the trip to Jakarta on my birthday's eve and it didn't help to experience my worst turbulence so far!

Well, I do have a birthday card from HS who's in HK and two birthday lunch treats so far and a celebration this Sunday but I thought that's pretty much it. After all, it's already the 28th....

Was hoping there would be a surprise cake, at least from Mac since the flight delayed and I reached home past 12mn.
I walked in, scanned through, nothing.
A little disappointed and grumpy and I went ahead to get ready for my shower.

Because my wardrobe door is a little translucent I saw a Surprise Note tagged to a bag sitting on my clothes. Silly him didn't realise that my home clothes are in the bottom drawer so the translucent door saved him.
I immediately opened my wardrobe and saw a Singtel thingy on top of the bag.
I thought he bought me an iPhone until i saw the bag.
OMG! It's an iPad2.
A totally sweet surprise.

And I hope one of these years, it would be a Hermes sitting inside my wardrobe :)

2016, a year to remember

June has always been my favourite month. But it didn't start off well as I had my first zero sale, boo hoo. Never mind I thought. I've had a zero, what could be worse? Another zero of course, wtf! Fast forward to June 18, the mahjong khakis celebrated my birthday and surprised me with a cake. June 19, celebrated with the in-laws and ended the night with some sinful durian. June 20. 230am. My phone rang. An unfamiliar number and I was so tired I decided to ignore it and switched my phone to night mode. 330am. Heard the phone beep. It was the FB message alert. For some strange reason, I opened my eyes to check my phone. Two missed calls from my brother and the first line of the FB message read your grandpa is in critical condition... I started shaking. Returned my brother's call and he said the same thing, proved that I wasn't dreaming. I hung up and read the FB message my uncle left me and yes it read my grandpa's in critical condition at Tan Tock Seng...

放下

2016年虽然只过了一半但我却学会和体会了很多。 二月决定放下坚守八年的工作岗位去创业。 因为薪水大减，这几个月来放下一些物质的欲望。 但也因为这份新工作放下了许多压力和不必要的公司或人事纠纷。 有时也必须放下一些不适合这行业的做法，诚恳学习这行的窍门。 六月看到爷爷安详地离去更让我体会的能够放下的人才会快乐。 我会继续努力学习放下。

Out with brother

We look alike, don't we? Something small for ourselves :) We had wanted to go to Bishan but didn't think there's much to do so we went Orchard instead. It's been a while since Mr. Grumpy dislikes going to crowded town. Was thinking hard what I wanted for my super belated birthday treat and thought of the Korean restaurant in Chinatown... So off we went. Kimchi pancake Seafood steamboat - yummy! Rice cake before & after - barely touched because we over ordered! After dinner, it was reminiscing at OG. I had a great time thanks to my brother.  More to come :)
