Random things about Europe trip

1. I did not bring any lip balm and by day 2, my lips were cracking like mad and went red and swollen in no time. I bought it in Venice on day 3.

2. I brought moisturiser knowing that my skin will itch like mad in that kind of weather but was too lazy to apply. Ha, I ended up scratching my legs and stomach every single day because my skin was too dry and hence the itch. My once upon a time ahem beautiful legs are now very scarred. Yes, I asked for it.

3. I did not bring any face moisturiser - I don't even use any here - and my face was cracking/flaking too. Applying liquid foundation and powder made it worse and by day 5 I think, I stopped using face make up except for blusher and was happy for a week or so for being able to go natural. Well, kinda. Reality aka bad skin hits me once I head back.

4. We did not bring enough tooth paste and had to spend cannot-remember-how-much on it on day 3 in Venice. Brilliant right?

5. He didn't bring his shaver and again had to spend cannot-remember-how-much on it in Venice.

6. Nutella is everywhere in Paris and I was damn happy! I had two each day for my breakfast. Cheap thrill! I think it's because I liked it as a kid and my grandma refused to buy for me cos it's too 'heaty'.

7. I had the same breakfast in London for a good 5 days! Omelette, harsh brown, fried potato, orange juice, bread and baked beans. I'm such an adventurer when it comes to food.

2016, a year to remember

June has always been my favourite month. But it didn't start off well as I had my first zero sale, boo hoo. Never mind I thought. I've had a zero, what could be worse? Another zero of course, wtf! Fast forward to June 18, the mahjong khakis celebrated my birthday and surprised me with a cake. June 19, celebrated with the in-laws and ended the night with some sinful durian. June 20. 230am. My phone rang. An unfamiliar number and I was so tired I decided to ignore it and switched my phone to night mode. 330am. Heard the phone beep. It was the FB message alert. For some strange reason, I opened my eyes to check my phone. Two missed calls from my brother and the first line of the FB message read your grandpa is in critical condition... I started shaking. Returned my brother's call and he said the same thing, proved that I wasn't dreaming. I hung up and read the FB message my uncle left me and yes it read my grandpa's in critical condition at Tan Tock Seng...

Out with brother

We look alike, don't we? Something small for ourselves :) We had wanted to go to Bishan but didn't think there's much to do so we went Orchard instead. It's been a while since Mr. Grumpy dislikes going to crowded town. Was thinking hard what I wanted for my super belated birthday treat and thought of the Korean restaurant in Chinatown... So off we went. Kimchi pancake Seafood steamboat - yummy! Rice cake before & after - barely touched because we over ordered! After dinner, it was reminiscing at OG. I had a great time thanks to my brother.  More to come :)
